the Givenchy duffel is the embodiment of practical luxury.
i'm so glad that i waited for the small version (the medium looked like luggage on my frame). i think the leather will actually soften a bit over time, which i'm looking forward to. excited to add an Hermes-like boxcalf leather bag to my collection that is, by all accounts, durable and super low maintenance.
i'm pairing the duffel lately with my go-to white sleeveless shirt and some trusty favorites, so i'm pretty much set for summer. already thinking about adding a few more sleeveless poplins to my wardrobe.
what is your uniform lately?
Love the term practical luxury. Something to add to my lexicon! My uniform lately has been dark coloured camis and my trusty olive green tapered chinos and Arizona Birkenstocks. I'm definitely into the sleeveless poplin, long grey jersey fitted maxi and a slinky black flow-y cami type top for this summer but I have yet to hunt them down. Definitely miss Uniqlo now that its nowhere near me.
ReplyDeleteLooks like my summer uniform!
ReplyDeleteThe small is perfect on you. I need to sell my medium asap.
I love your new bag! My favorite was the Lucrezia, but I can definitely see why you went for the Antigona. I don't need any more bags for now, but that does not stop me from dreaming! Givenchy was completely off my bag-radar until POW, great bags everywhere.
ReplyDeleteMy uniform these days consists of skinny jeans, sheer blouses and a good shoe. I scored a great pair of black leather pumps the other day at 75% off, so pleased! Wore them out for dinner tonight and not a blister in sight :)
Love your summer uniform! And that bag!!
ReplyDeleteI sold my SC because of the weight.. what a shame as it was a beautifully crafted bag. Sticking to Balenciaga first and city for now. But how does the antigona compare to the city in terms of weight? And, is the smooth leather scratch resistant?
My summer uniform- skinny tapered jeans from Uniqlo, loose boho blouse, Trinas and a B bag.
the smooth leather is very durable and Givenchy bags seem to be pretty tough! Bbags are the lightest so it can't compare, but i find the small to be substantial without being heavy.
DeleteI love your summer uniform! The top looks crisp and lovely, and that bag is gorgeous. How are the Zara flats holding up? I've never bought shoes from there.
ReplyDeletehey erica :) the zara ballets have held up surprisingly well but they're from two years ago. i've found the selection lately to be a mixed bag...
DeleteHa! I wore my sleeveless poplin on Tuesday pretty much the same way, except with dieppa oxfords. I love that it's machine washable, but ironing is kind of a pain in the ass. How do you care for yours?
ReplyDeletei just wash and hang dry - if i'm feeling industrious i'll do a quick iron but i like the slightly crinkled look too :)
DeleteThis is such a lovely Audrey Hepburn-ish look! And, Givenchy was her favorite designer! ;))
ReplyDeleteWrap dresses are my thing as of late. Can't fit into pants ( STILL !) as I am still about 15 pounds overweight from the baby...
ReplyDeleteSuch a freakin' great outfit! Simply perfect.
ReplyDeleteI've been living in my Paige Jimmy Jimmy boyfriend jeans or my white Eileen Fisher ankle cropped skinny jeans, usually with a button front and sleeves rolled, or a Breton tee (one of many!). Shoes vary depending on how my feet feel: Jenny Kayne dupes or Birkies.
"Practical luxury" is the perfect way to describe many of your wardrobe pieces, I think I might have to borrow the phrase too. And oh how jealous I am of your uniform - jeans right now are unimaginable! Mine as of late alternates between black pleated cotton shorts and a chambray midi skirt plus a breathable t-shirt in a neutral color (that doesn't betray how sweaty I am :P), and ballet flats. I've also been wearing a black t-shirt dress from American Apparel as well as a black romper quite a bit.
ReplyDeleteAlso, joining the masses in saying I'm loving the sleeveless poplin, definitely pining for my own.
Nice! - now that the weather has gone from hot to sweltering, sleeveless shirts are the best way to stay sharp and cool.
ReplyDeleteMy sister tried to talk me into the Antigona before I went for the Saint Laurent duffel. It's super chic but in the end I feel more at ease with something with a sporty vibe. The shoulder strap on the Antigona is a nice variation though - I like that you can keep the bag close when you're jostling with commuters.
So tempted to buy a bunch of basics from Everlane but too lazy to go through the whole process of shipping via a third party company because they don't ship internationally. I may cave...I love the look of their slingback sandals.
ha, acne's summer sale is on and i couldn't resist a sleeveless blue poplin shirt. love the bag, and although i'm in need o a good leather handbag, it won't happen soon. i'm cycling almost everywhere and luxury bags and bikes are not what i would call a perfect match - above, i'm saving for arne jacobsen's mayor sofa - so my uniform is quite similar, sand le bag. :D
