on film: Tom Ford // Visionaires

one of the most insightful fashion documentaries i've seen in a long time. the man is insanely talented, sure, but what really inspires in this film is the depth of his intelligent mind, and his clarity of perspective on life, culture, and the things that really matter.

    I didn't realize how incredibly thoughtful and insightful the man was until I saw A Single Man, and then the director's commentary sort of blew me away. It was incredibly illuminating. Thanks for sharing this video! Very interesting.

      glad you like - i love the dichotomy between "TF the flashy persona" and TF himself. every time someone says something dismissive about people in the fashion industry, i want to point them to this film!

    Thanks for sharing this! Its always so inspiration to hear a successful person "doing what they love" and not having it feel like work at all. Every year that goes by for me, I reflect on what I spend my time doing (often its just working at a job I don't like). But I too would one day like to reflect on my time and feel that I've lived a full life and could die at any moment feeling content. Would love that over feeling like I've wasted 60 years working in some office space for nothing!

      also in an industry where all too often designers spout off rather vague, cliched platitudes about style/women/luxury, it's refreshing to hear someone talk about it with a philosophical honesty.

    Tom Ford is truly an inspiration and fashion architect. I like the way he thinks and does everything with passion. I really enjoyed every minute of the intimate interview. I also look forward to watching the film "A Single Man". Thank you for sharing !!!
